Fairtrade Fortnight 2019 events

This year Zaytoun celebrates ten years of Zaytoun Fairtrade olive oil and to celebrate, Khader Khader, a farmer and a Fairtrade pioneer, is visiting customers, schools and supporters. Tues 26 Feb, 7.15pm. 10 years of Fairtrade in Palestine. A talk and olive oil tasting at The Trading Hut, Staveley Rd, W4 2SJ. Tickets £2 on the door. www.growchiswick.org
Thurs 28th Feb, 7pm. Fairtrade from Palestine. A bring-a-dish meal and a talk by Khader. Families welcome. More info at www.lets-traid.org. RSVP info@lets-traid.org.  
Sat 2nd March, 7.30pm. From Palestine to Orkney. An evening at St Magnus Centre, Kirkwall, KW15 1PA. More info from mckirkwall@hotmail.co.uk
Mon 4th March, 7pm. A Fairtrade Feast hosted by GreenCity Wholefoods and The Civic House in Glasgow. Book a place at the table here.
Wed 6th March, 6-8pm, A Fairtrade evening with Hadeel, 123 George Street, EH2 4JN Edinburgh. More info at https://www.hadeel.org/news.
Sat 9th March 2-4pm. The Fairtrade Experience with a pop up cafe, giant snakes and ladders, virtual reality, films and an expert panel, including Khader, will debate how fairness can be a part of our everyday culture.  Hosted by The Waltham Forest Fairtrade Campaign Group at The Community Hall, St John’s Church, High Street, Leytonstone, E11 1HH.

Tues 5 March, 7.30pm. FairTrade with Palestine evening with Milton Keynes PSC. Centrecom, 602 North Row, Central Milton Keynes MK9 3BJ. Includes talk, Palestinian snacks, FairTrade goods, quiz and raffle.
Friday 8th March Heather Masoud, Director and co-founder of Zaytoun will talk about the impact of fair trade on Palestinian women producers. Plus Bayt Exhibition of Palestinian clothing, textiles and jewelry by Suhad Jarrar. Trish Whitham will speak about her Protective Presence olive picking experience near Nablus. Debke dance by members of the Reading community.  Wear your Palestinian clothes and garments! Men and women welcome! Fair Trade stall, snacks and refreshments.
