Israel ships its rubbish to West Bank

Israel is planning to dump 10 000 tonnes of waste onto Palestinian land
every month as this is 25% cheaper than it would be on the Israeli side
of the 1967 “green line” (Independent). The quarry near Nablus in the West
Bank will, according to Israeli officials, benefits both the Israelis and
the Palestinians, but critics are concerned it will damage underground
water supplies and vital Palestinian olive-growing land. Legal experts say
the landfill could violate international law (Times).
