Cindy Corrie, the mother of the activist Rachel Corrie who was killed by a Caterpillar bulldozer in Gaza, joined War on Want and Caterkiller yesterday in order to meet with store managers and urge them to stop stocking Caterpillar goods as they contravene the stores’ ethical sourcing and corporate social responsibility policies. Yesterday we got a call from Triodos bank to say they’ve agreed to loan us £50,000 ! This is fantastic news for Zaytoun as we pay the Palestinian farmers for their Olive Oil before each shipment leaves Palestine. We’ve been trying to secure finance from many sources since last year hence the Triodos loan offer…
